Eclipse Season of October 2023
ECLIPSE SEASON BEGINS
Operational for the next 6 months…..things speed up, pop up, and take on a life of their own….
Up First, a 'Ring of Fire' solar eclipse in the zodiac sign of Libra at 21 degrees on October 14, 2024.
The path of this eclipse is visible in Oregon, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and Texas, as well as some parts of California, Idaho, Colorado, and Arizona. Those areas become of particular interest over the next six months. The path of the eclipse is the area most affected by the energies involved. This is an excellent opportunity to set new intentions and review what needs to change in your life. The fact that this is a “Ring of Fire” Eclipse may be literal as the area shadowed by the Eclipse is on the ring of fire for faults and volcanoes. Fire season is not over year for the West and this makes extreme fire a probability.
Solar eclipses typically mark powerful new beginnings and are associated with significant changes. This eclipse falls in Libra, it's likely to bring themes of balance, harmony, and relationships to the forefront. As well as legal issues and justice, cooperation, and mediation. You may reevaluate your connections with others and seek equilibrium in your life.
Eclipses often carry transformative energy, so be prepared for unexpected shifts and revelations. Embrace change as an opportunity for growth. Know, as a rule, any changes occurring during this time are likely permanent. This may involve facing deep-seated fears, obsessions, or issues from the past (South Node) and working towards a more empowered and authentic future (North Node).
During the next two weeks seek to DE-ESCALATE drama, power issues, and emotions that pop up. Time will provide more information and rational thinking. At the time of a Solar eclipse, the New Moon is dark so all the information hasn’t been revealed yet, there is something we don’t know. Tread with caution and open-mindedness.
The October 14th Eclipse, has Pluto (transformation, death, power, and wealth) in a difficult aspect to both the lunar nodes of destiny and Mars god of war. As we know, the attack on Israel is happening as this eclipse is building. These planetary aspects depict the destabilizing stalemate in the Middle East. Nine years ago, in 2014, an eclipse conjunct Spica, almost at the same degree, happened when the Israel/Palestinian peace talks failed. The consequence is ready to play out again, this time more dramatically and deadly. Take a look. The impacts of Pluto build slowly and can be seen most in our collective world, but this powerhouse planet may create drama, on a smaller scale, in our individual lives. Especially, if we have planets or angles at 15-28 degrees of Libra, Aries, Capricorn, or Cancer.
Pluto square nodes:
Karmic Challenges: The lunar nodes are often linked to karmic themes, with the North Node representing your soul's purpose and the South Node representing past-life patterns.
Power Struggles: Pluto's influence can bring power struggles and control issues to the forefront. You may find yourself in situations where you need to assert your power or deal with power dynamics in your relationships.
Obsessions and Compulsions
Deep Healing: On a positive note, Pluto square the lunar nodes can signify a time of deep emotional and psychological healing. You have the opportunity to dig into your innermost issues and make profound changes.
Crisis and Rebirth: This aspect can sometimes bring about a crisis or a breaking point. It's as if old structures are collapsing to make way for a rebirth.
The star Spica is conjunct with the eclipse. It appears in the sky in the shaft of wheat Virgo is holding. Symbols of fertility, food sources, agriculture, and even peace. Usually a lucky star, I hope Spica softens the potential negative effects of Pluto and opens a peaceful and fruitful path forward.
A bit more extreme and unpredictable, this eclipse sets a tone for where we need progress.
It falls on the reproductive organs of the Bull, symbolizing fertility, plowing fields, and future financial wealth. This placement can indicate sex scandals, reproductive information- especially regarding farming, financial scandals, and hidden secrets. The path of this eclipse is different from the first and affects Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, North America, and much of South America.
This is the partner to the Solar eclipse mentioned above, both of these have strong fertility and food connections. Watch for news about crops. Unfortunately, seawater is scheduled to contaminate New Orleans's drinking water, due to drought in Mississippi on this day. The fallout from this event could be more extreme than anticipated. Perhaps we begin to see wealth means much more than money, and security relies on more than securities.
Full moons mark endings and completions. The moon is getting help from lucky Jupiter, but Mars adds conflict and overconfidence to the mix. Usually, the moon with Jupiter is emotional stability, generosity, security, appreciation of nature, and financial acumen. However, the moon is eclipsed, so what was once will soon reappear “reborn” and take on a new form, changed. Lunar events have more to do with domestic issues, security, and are definitely more emotional.
Watch for extremes in the financial markets with major shifts of winners and losers. Mars may “over-speculate” or over-inflate an asset, that will soon crash. Uranus is providing an “out of the blue” unexpected opportunity to shift the power dynamics and change values. Scandals regarding money, banking, and wealth may surface as Mercury and Mars are arm and arm with the Sun.
Eclipse season (Oct. 14-oct 28) can seem otherworldly and you may feel fatigued.
Some advice for surfing the wave :
Release and Let Go: Release things that no longer serve your growth. Identify unhealthy patterns, relationships, or habits that you're ready to let go of and make a conscious effort to release them. The Solar Eclipse on the 14th highlights what needs to be “excreted” while the Lunar Eclipse (on the 28th) highlights what is over and where to steer for future growth.
Stay Flexible: Be prepared to adapt to new circumstances and remain flexible in your plans. Sometimes, what seems like a setback during an eclipse can lead to a better path.
Avoid Major Decisions: Avoid making significant life decisions during an eclipse, as the energies can be erratic and unclear. If possible, delay important choices until after the eclipse season has passed.
Rest: Ensure you get enough rest, eat nourishing foods, and engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Taking care of your physical and emotional well-being is crucial.
Avoid Drama: Eclipses can sometimes stir up drama and conflicts. Try to avoid getting involved in unnecessary disputes and drama. Choose your battles wisely and focus on positive resolutions.
